The observatory of Grand Paris station neighbourhoods undertaken in the first quarter of 2014 concerned the 16 stations on the southern section of line 15. Six topics were studied: density, urban centralities, the urban and landscape framework, the demographic and social characteristics of the inhabitants of the station neighbourhoods, transport and public spaces, the dynamics of construction and the projects.
The observation was conducted on two levels:
- A cross-analysis of the 16 station neighbourhoods allowing a comparison to be made of the situation of each neighbourhood, the subject of this document.
- Monographs detailing the characteristics of each neighbourhood placing each one in its immediate environment, not only in the communes affected by the arrival of the stations but also in the remaining inner ring of Parisian suburbs.
The work of the observatory has contributed to a better understanding of these territories. The cross-analysis demonstrates the great diversity of situations observed in the station neighbourhoods. It has supplied the facts needed to accompany the changes and transformations required by the arrival of the Grand Paris Express Network -Réseau du Grand Paris Express - and plays an important role in the decision making process of the the municipalities and key players affected by the RGPE.
