Young Parisians who have difficulty integrating - Profile elements of young people who are not employed, not studying and not training

28,700 young people in Paris aged between 16 and 25 are “not employed, not studying and not training”, which represents 9% of the young people in this age group.

The integration of young people is a major issue: dropping out of school, insecurity among youth, high unemployment, these problems are central to numerous matters of great concern. This note endeavors to define the different profiles of young people who are not employed, not studying and not training (NEET) in Paris in order to identify those in the city with really integration difficulties. These young people are targeted by numerous public policies, it therefore seems important to improve awareness of their profiles so that better solutions can be found that respond to their needs and stimulate their way towards integration. 

In Paris, the profile of young NEET is specific compared with that of the overall profile of young Parisians. They are, on average, more often men, with few qualifications, who live with their parents. This section of the population is not however homogenous in terms of age, level of qualification, place of residency, diverse situations of autonomy having been recorded.
